Cutting Guide
Choose the right ORION blade and cutting method for your material.
Which Blade Should I Use?
Porcelain Blade: porcelain, Dekton, sintered stone, ultra-compact materials.
Quartzite Blade: quartzite, granite, and hard natural stone.
Quartz & Granite Blade: quartz, granite, engineered stone.
Marble Blade: marble, limestone, travertine, calcite.
Straight Cut Tips
Use steady feed speed, proper water flow, and a clean saw table. Do not force the blade through the material. Let the blade cut smoothly to reduce chipping and improve edge quality.
Mitre Cut Tips
Reduce feed speed for mitre cuts, keep the slab supported, and check water flow before cutting. Use the correct ORION blade for the material to help reduce chipping and improve edge quality.
Sharpening Tips
- Dress the blade when cutting slows down.
- Use a proper dressing stone or scrap material.
- For the Quartzite Blade, an easy option is a scrap granite piece.
- For the Porcelain Blade, an easy option is a scrap engineered stone piece.
- Make a few passes to expose fresh diamonds.
- Avoid forcing a dull blade.
